Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern the roofing services provided by Wye Valley Roofing. By requesting a quote, agreeing to proceed with works or entering into an agreement with us, you accept these terms.

1. Definitions

“We”, “us” or “our” means Wye Valley Roofing, 27 Russell's End, Bromsberrow, Herefordshire, HR8 1PA. “You” or “your” means the customer, homeowner or person instructing the works. “Works” means the roofing services described in your quote or agreed scope.

2. Quotes and estimates

All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. A quote becomes a binding agreement once you accept it in writing, by email, by text or by paying a deposit. We may need to revise the price if hidden defects, structural issues or changes to the scope are discovered during the works.

3. Scheduling and access

We will agree a start date and estimated completion date with you. Start dates may be delayed by adverse weather, material supply issues or other events outside our reasonable control. You must provide safe, unrestricted access to the property and roof area for the duration of the works.

4. Materials and workmanship

We use materials appropriate for the job, matching the agreed specification. Where exact matches are unavailable due to manufacturer discontinuation, we will agree a suitable alternative with you before proceeding. All work is carried out to a professional standard and in line with current building regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

5. Payment terms

Payment terms will be set out in your quote or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit may be required before works begin, with the balance due on completion. We accept bank transfer and other methods as agreed. Late payment may incur interest and recovery costs.

6. Cancellations and postponements

You may cancel within 14 days of accepting a quote without penalty, unless work has already started or bespoke materials have been ordered. If you postpone works after we have committed resources or ordered materials, we reserve the right to retain costs already incurred.

7. Guarantees and insurance

We are fully insured for public and employer liability. Workmanship guarantees are provided as stated in your quote or contract. Manufacturer warranties apply where applicable and are subject to the manufacturer’s own terms. Guarantees do not cover damage caused by severe weather, third-party interference, pre-existing defects not included in the agreed scope, or failure to maintain the roof.

8. Liability

We are responsible for damage caused by our negligence during the works, up to the value covered by our insurance. We are not liable for pre-existing defects, damage caused by events beyond our control, or consequential losses unless required by law. Our total liability is limited to the value of the works we were contracted to carry out.

9. Variations and additional work

If additional work is needed beyond the agreed scope, we will discuss it with you and agree a revised price before proceeding. You are not obliged to accept additional works, but it may affect completion times or the effectiveness of the guarantee if related defects are left unresolved.

10. Complaints and disputes

If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us as soon as possible. We will inspect the issue and, where appropriate, put it right at no extra cost. If we cannot resolve the matter directly, disputes may be referred to mediation or dealt with under UK law.

11. Health and safety

We work in accordance with current health and safety regulations. You must inform us of any hazards, restricted access, asbestos concerns or other risks before work begins. If dangerous conditions are discovered, we may pause works until the situation is made safe.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your works are those in force when you accept your quote, unless we both agree otherwise in writing.
